We welcome the news that Jane Lubchenco, newly confirmed top
administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration,
plans to visit New Bedford on the invitation of U.S. Rep. Barney Frank.
She should get a look at the nation's top-grossing fishing port, as
NOAA is the parent agency of the National Marine Fisheries Service,
which regulates commercial fishing.
